I have been rather busy with gaw wish collection these few days. Done with 3 centres so now left 1 MORE to go! I must say, so far it has not exactly been smooth sailing:(
Last thurs, we went down to children's aid soc. I was kind of irritated with the person in charge. Apparently we were supposed to start the games at 330pm but at 4pm, only a handful of kids were at the centre ready for the games & the rest were still not back from sch yet. At that pt of time, I was thinking how come the person did not remind the kids that we will be down or check with the kids if they have any after sch activities.. I mean shldn't they be concerned as to what time the kids will be back or what? Putting that aside, the kids there are simply RUDE,VIOLENT(afew of them), UNAPPRECIATIVE & not cute at all! I seriously cant believe that at such a young tender age, they go around hitting ppl & scolding vulgarities( comments from volunteers). Well actually I know they are all not at fault considering their family background be it coming from dysfunctional families or lack of parental love etc. Haha now I finally understand why proper upbringing & educating kids when they are young are crucial in shaping their character as well as to inculcate in them good morals or habits. Ok must take note so that next time my kids will be super adorable & well-mannered!
On mon, went to child@street11. Ok, this was much much better. Not sure if the kids are much younger or what but they are super CUTE!!!! Although they are super playful but at least they are not annoying. The pri sch kids are also super guai...Hahaha since pri sch kids got to study for their exams, they were not allowed to play games & for our intended age grp there were only about 8 kids, we decided to bring the nursery kids too! Haha they are so small-sized & puny!! It was so funny to see them play the eagle catch chicks game. Anyway, everything went well for this session & although all of us were dead beat after the whole thing, we all enjoyed ourselves alot:)
Tue session was at Beyond Services. At 1st, I thought this centre should not be a problem but I was so wrong. Personally, I feel that the kids are alright except maybe for 1 boy who behaves like a 'gangster' and thus influencing the other kids. In fact, I feel that the person in charge was the irritating one. Yes I can understand her strong desire as to wanting to protect the kids but she should not keep doubting us, thinking that we will do more harm to the kids due to the lack of experience. Although she did not verbally said it out but it was so obvious that she was trying to put that message across. Seriously, I was quite scared on tue but thankfully there were experienced ppl like calvin & yongfeng around.
Oh well, last one next tue & I will be done with wish collection!! Not so worried for that one cuz the person liaising planned out the schedule & briefed the teachers alrd. Haha super efficient! So hopefully everything will turn out fine.
